    A look back at The Stand

     

    In August 2016, the film of Cell a powerful story about a cellphone virus starring Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack ,  is released in the UK. The Stand, first published in 1978, is about another virus, a  super Flu which will likely  wipe out the world’s population. Much of The Stand is set in a landscape which echoes that of  King’s epic Dark Tower series, which is also soon to be a major movie starring Idris Elba
